On the first of January in 1863, President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, effectively declaring that my enslaved ancestors and many thousands of others "are, and henceforth shall be free."

On that day, Thomas Jefferson's words of clarion principle enshrined in the Declaration of Independence – "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" – were transformed indeed into a cornerstone of American constitutionalism, a fact and reality indelibly etched upon and embedded within the federal law of the United States.

Now almost 150 years later, the United States government tragically has chosen to abuse the force of federal law, to scar and erode that legacy of freedom and human equality, seeking to again enslave generations of Americans – by forcing us into an unwanted, immoral and socialist yoke of servitude under an unconstitutional guise of "comprehensive health care reform."

While those that voted in favor of this health care reform debacle will falsely point to some allegedly altruistic intentions in passing this bill, the harsh reality is they care nothing about our ordered liberty. This legislation is all about "control":

• "control" of the people by the elites;
• "control" of the political process by creating an artificial "learned dependence";
• and "control" of the masses through enslavement to "government" as the provider of essential elements of livelihood, just as my ancestors were enslaved by selfappointed "masters" on the plantation!

Well, my friends, the first and most indispensable prerequisite of all right action is to uphold THE Authoritative standard that distinguishes good from evil, right from wrong, truth from lies. Simply put, that standard is acknowledgement of the authority of our Creator God and His Commandments -- which are the linchpin of our American Constitution. It is conformity to His justice which compels our respect for the principles of human equality and liberty, and so gives us government of, by and for the people.

Clearly, we have a leadership crisis in Washington, D.C., and we need true conservatives from our own communities who have demonstrated they are willing to take a stand to represent the conscience of the nation, and would never trade our essential liberty for the promise of a bit of temporary safety.

Because, if we have learned anything from this dangerous and wholly unnecessary "health care reform" intrusion from the federal government, it is that we must REPLACE many in Congress with true leaders who are willing to stand up and defend the Constitution and the God-fearing first principles upon which America stands: the self-evident truths of our Created liberty and equality.

With a nation outraged and the sleeping giant of the decent American people finally being roused from passive, even indulgent hibernation, there is no better time to elect true, Ronald Reagan conservatives.

• We CAN REPLACE, with true conservatives, many socialists in Congress who have failed our nation.
• We CAN REPEAL the odious and unconstitutional Obamacare legislation.
• We CAN RESTORE the American Republic.

But we can only do it together. And we must act swiftly and decisively. With the hand of the Almighty upon us, we can and will elect the next generation of principled leadership in Washington!
